CRACK REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS

In just 8 easy steps


PLEASE READ ALL DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY & WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES DURING INSTALLATION


Step 1: PREPARATION

a. Please read and follow safety procedures for all tools and wear all safety equipment during install.

b. Locate where Rhino Carbon Fiber Crack Repair Kit will be installed.

c. Mark the crack at the top, middle, and bottom of the wall.

Tools: Marker


Step 2: CONCRETE REMOVAL

a. Remove 14” of concrete from the center of the crack

Note: Concrete should be removed past the edge of the footer

Tools: Hammer Drill


Step 3: GRINDING

a. Grind foundation wall where the crack repair material will be installed

b. Achieve a “Bare Foundation”

c. Rhino Carbon Fiber Crack Repair should span from the sill place to the footer

Note: Remove all caulk/latex/etc. from the work area

Tools: Grinder


Step 4: FILL

a. Fill crack with RCF High Strength Anchoring Epoxy Paste or hydraulic cement before
mounting carbon fiber

Tools: RCF Strength Anchoring Epoxy Paste or Hydraulic Cement and Epoxy Gun


Step 5: MOUNT

a. Measuring the height of the foundation wall from the sill plate to the footer and add 6”

b. Cut Carbon Fiber to length

c. Make sure crack will be completely covered by carbon fiber

Tools: Measuring tape and scissors/utility knife


Step 6: EPOXY

a. Apply thin layer of epoxy to the foundation wall working from top to bottom covering
entire ground surface

b. Once a sufficient coating of epoxy is applied to foundation wall, lay carbon fiber crack
repair over the epoxy ensuring the carbon fiber completely covers the crack

c. Use squeege over epoxy for both foundation wall and carbon fiber strap

d. Use light strokes with squeege to spread epoxy evenly focusing on the edges for a
clean

Tools: Saturant-Adhesive Epoxy, epoxy gun, and squeege


Step 7: BACKFILL REPLACEMENT

Using gravel or small pieces of concrete leftover from removal, fill area leaving a
miniumum of 3” for new concrete

Tools: Gravel


Step 8: FINISH

a. Mix concrete per manufacturers recommendations

b. Pour concrete into work area and trowel to a smooth, uniform finish

Tools: Concrete, bucket, shovel, and trowel
