Corner Wall Repair Instructions

In just 5 easy steps



a. To find the spacing of the straps reference the spacing guide for reference (below)

b. Measure the height of your basement wall (round to the nearest foot)

c. Start at the top of the wall and measure down “X” to find location of the first
strap (number 1 in diagram)

d. Measure “Y” to find 2nd mark and so on

e. On block wall repairs, carbon fiber straps must be installed to the face of the
block, not over horizontal mortar joints

Step 2: GRIND

a. Grind 5 feet along each side of the wall starting at the corner.

Note: For block walls use existing mortar joints as a guide. 

b. Grind the entire surface of market areas, where the straps will be installed, to achieve
a bare foundation

c. Roll the grinder over the corner to provide a minimum 1/2” radius

d. You must follow all EPA guidelines.

Tools: Grinder, dust extractor, safety glasses, and mask

Step 3: EPOXY PREP (Opt)

a. Cut strips of plastic and tape them to the wall between the strap locations.

Tools: Tape, Scissors

Step 4: MOUNT

a. Starting at the top carbon fiber location, apply epoxy evenly to the entire prepped area

b. Mount carbon fiber to the wall keeping it as straight as possible.
(fold carbon fiber accordian style or keep it rolled up as you work acress the wall)

c. Using a plastic putty knife, work carbon fiber into epoxy to ensure
proper saturation.

d. Apply a light coat of Saturant-Adhesive Epoxy to the surface of the carbon fiber and
spread to ensure 100% saturation

Tools: Gloves, epoxy gun, carbon fiber, epoxy, plastic putty knife (optional)

Step 5: CLEAN UP (Optional if you completed step 3)

a. Once epoxy is set and no longer running remove tape and plastic

b. Walls can be painted for asthetic purposes once the epoxy has covered
