Block Wall Corner Repair

Carbon fiber is one of the most versatile and best solutions for crack repair on block walls. If the joint is re-tucked or patched, it is likely that the crack will reopen. When carbon fiber is used, the bond strength over the crack provides much greater strength to hold the crack together than repairing the joint alone. Even if there is still a slight movement to the joint, the carbon fiber will resist this movement and remain intact.

In some cases, rather than more expensive repairs that involve excavation and foundation stabilization, carbon fiber can be used for a permanent crack repair solution.

In this case, attempts had been made in the past to repair the cracks on the corner of this structure but each time, the crack reopened. One of Rhino Carbon Fibers contractors, The Concrete Chiropractor, was called in to discuss repair options on this structure. They reached out to the engineer at Rhino who recommended that the bi-directional crack repair is installed over the crack in conjunction with a corner wrap to hold the corner together.

The block wall was prepped and all mortar joints were filled with hydraulic cement. The result was a permanent repair that could be painted over to blend in with the structure.

High-quality products and design support from Rhino Carbon Fiber enabled the contractor to permanently repair a problem crack that was holding up the sale of the property. Once repainted, the repair blended nicely with the existing structure.
